Volkswagen presents progressive natural gas engine at the Vienna Motor Symposium

The new natural gas 1.5 TGI Evo high-tech engine featuring VTG turbocharger and Miller combustion process.

VW 1.5 TGI EvoThe 1.5-litre direct injector, fitted with VTG forced induction (latest-generation turbochargers with variable turbine geometry), is based on the 1.5 TSI ACT BlueMotion engine. Like its counterpart, the equally powerful natural gas engine, at 96 kW/130 hp, uses the efficient TSI/TGI Miller combustion process.

Eesti gaas was the first to launch biomethane sales in Estonia

Eesti Gaas opened the first gas station in Estonia that also sells green gas, i.e. biomethane, at Tehnika 150 in the centre of Tallinn.

eestigaasKalle Palling, the vice-chairman of the Environment Committee of Riigikogu, attending the opening ceremony was delighted that from now on, it will be possible to buy fuel of local origin from renewable energy sources at the gas stations of Eesti Gaas. “The Republic of Estonia has undertaken obligation to cover at least 10% of its liquid fuel use in transportation with fuel from renewable energy sources by the year of 2020 and about a third of it would be biomethane. Therefore I hope that Estonians who value environmental awareness more and more will also quickly come around to biomethane,” said Palling.

Bucharest – A1 motorway CNG filling station, in a straight line for building

The building permit of the first CNG (compressed natural gas for vehicles) filling station, first in the series of 9 to be carried out under the CNG Romania project, has been issued.

The station will be located in the Kika Militari area, next to the A1 Motorway, on Piteşti – Bucharest direction, 500 m from the roundabout, the exit to Hornbach Militari, with easy access from both directions of the ring of the Capital and A1 Motorway, as well as the exit from Bucharest.
The location of the station is in line with the project strategy to serve transit on the main TEN-T network but also to the adjacent urban agglomerations. Continue reading

CNG, the fuel of the future – economic, ecological, sustainable

Volvo Trucks wins Sustainable Truck of the Year 2018

Volvo Trucks’ new natural gas and biogas trucks have received Italy’s Sustainable Truck of the Year 2018 award. It was handed over at a ceremony in connection with the Ecomondo exhibition in Rimini on November 7.

Jost group signs a supply agreement for 500 Iveco Stralis NP LNG trucks

They will replace 4 to 5 years old diesel-powered vehicles in the Belgian firm’s fleet of 1,400 trucks and 3,000 trailers, which has grown steadily following a series of acquisitions. The company already operates 132 Stralis vehicles, including two running on compressed natural gas (CNG).
